ChemLink M-1 is a high-performance, single-component adhesive and sealant formulated with advanced polyether technology. Designed for rigorous construction and maintenance environments, M-1 delivers consistent results even in challenging field conditions. It cures through exposure to moisture in the air, forming a durable, elastic bond that accommodates significant joint movement — over 35% in both extension and compression.

Unlike many conventional sealants, M-1 is completely solvent-free and 100% solids, which means it won’t shrink, outgas, or release harmful fumes during application or curing. This makes it safe for use in occupied buildings, including schools and healthcare facilities, where air quality is a concern. Its formulation contains no isocyanates, is low in VOCs (under 17 g/L), and complies with stringent environmental regulations such as California’s Proposition 65 and SCAQMD requirements.

M-1 adheres strongly to a wide variety of substrates — concrete, metal, wood, PVC, EPDM, and fiberglass among others — without the need for primers in most cases. It performs reliably in both horizontal and vertical joints, resists UV degradation, and retains flexibility in service temperatures ranging from -40°F to 200°F. Whether sealing flashing on a rooftop, bonding metal brackets to masonry, or installing electrical conduit penetrations, ChemLink M-1 offers dependable, long-lasting adhesion and weatherproofing in virtually any setting.

Recommended Applications

ChemLink M-1 is designed for a broad spectrum of construction and maintenance tasks, providing reliable sealing and bonding solutions across many building systems.

In both commercial and residential roofing, M-1 is commonly used for sealing flashing, coping joints, and skylights. It also serves as a dependable option for emergency roof repairs, offering immediate adhesion and weather resistance even under less-than-ideal conditions.

For penetrations through walls and roofs—such as pipes, cables, and conduit—M-1 provides a watertight seal that maintains flexibility and adhesion over time. Its compatibility with a wide range of substrates ensures long-term performance in these vulnerable areas.

In masonry and concrete work, M-1 is frequently applied to repair cracks, seal vertical and horizontal expansion joints, and bond metal brackets or other components to concrete substrates.

Mechanical systems also benefit from M-1’s capabilities. It is effective for sealing HVAC ducts, thermal insulation, pipe flanges, and mechanical penetrations where durable and flexible bonding is essential.

In solar energy installations, M-1 is used for mounting panels, sealing electrical components, and waterproofing around power distribution points. It provides the durability and temperature tolerance needed for long-term exposure on rooftops.

Finally, M-1 is trusted in lightning protection systems, where it securely bonds grounding cables to structural components, ensuring both electrical continuity and environmental resistance.
