  • Replaces floor waxes and resin-based coatings
  • Will not lift, peel, or flake
  • Excellent abrasion resistance and wear properties

SKU: 20065

Pentra-Finish HG is a lithium-based, high-gloss concrete floor sealer and protective finish designed for polished concrete, terrazzo, natural stone, burnished concrete, and other cement-based substrates. It delivers long-lasting shine and reduced maintenance compared to traditional floor waxes, acrylic coatings, and conventional resin-based systems.

How It Works

Unlike topical coatings that sit on the surface and eventually wear through or peel, Pentra-Finish HG uses reactive silicon hybrid polymer technology (SiRE)™ to chemically bond with the concrete substrate. When applied, the water-based lithium formula penetrates into the surface and reacts to form a clear, extremely hard micro-coating. This creates a durable protective layer that becomes part of the floor rather than a film sitting on top of it.

The result is a breathable, high-gloss finish that resists staining, abrasion, and chemical exposure without trapping moisture or lifting at the edges. Because the coating bonds at a molecular level, it will not flake, peel, or delaminate under heavy foot traffic or equipment use.

What Makes It Different

Traditional floor waxes require frequent reapplication and periodic stripping with harsh chemicals. Acrylic and resin-based floor coatings can yellow over time, scuff under rolling loads, and eventually peel in high-traffic areas. Epoxy systems offer durability but require extensive surface prep, longer cure times, and professional installation.

Pentra-Finish HG eliminates these tradeoffs. The lithium-based formula dries in minutes, not days. Recoating is simple because new applications bond directly to existing treated surfaces with no stripping or mechanical removal. The finish is UV-stable, so it won’t yellow in facilities with natural light or glass storefronts. And because it’s breathable, it won’t blister or whiten from moisture vapor transmission, a common failure point for film-forming sealers on concrete slabs.

For contractors, this means faster project turnaround, fewer callbacks, and a floor protection system that holds up in demanding commercial and industrial environments. For facility managers, it means lower lifetime maintenance costs and extended intervals between service.

Key Features

High-gloss, long-lasting finish

Improves clarity and prolongs shine on polished concrete, burnished concrete, and terrazzo surfaces. Compatible with high-speed burnishing (1,500–2,100 rpm) to accelerate cure and maximize gloss.

Superior stain and chemical resistance

Hard, breathable microfilm protects against oil, grease, food spills, and common industrial chemicals without trapping moisture beneath the surface.

Will not peel, flake, or require stripping

Bonds directly to the substrate and to previously treated surfaces. Periodic recoats apply directly over existing finish with no removal necessary.

Fast drying, low disruption

Low VOC, low odor formula dries in 30–60 minutes for quick return to foot and equipment traffic. Ideal for occupied facilities and fast-track projects.

Ed for safety and sustainability

GreenGuard Gold certified for low chemical emissions. Safe for incidental food contact per FDA 21 CFR 175.300 testing. May contribute to LEED IEQ credits.

Reduces long-term maintenance costs

Replaces wax-and-strip cycles with simple recoat maintenance. Extends service intervals and eliminates the need for harsh stripping chemicals.

Commercial and Institutional

HIGH-VISIBILITY PROTECTION

Enhances and protects polished concrete floors in spaces where appearance and durability both matter. The high-gloss, stain-resistant finish stands up to heavy foot traffic while maintaining a clean, professional look. Ideal for retail stores, shopping centers, grocery stores, schools, universities, museums, churches, healthcare facilities, office buildings, lobbies, and common areas.

Industrial & Distribution

HIGH-TRAFFIC DURABILITY

Provides a durable, low-maintenance floor finish that resists wear from forklifts, pallet jacks, and rolling equipment. Fast dry time minimizes downtime during application, and simple recoat maintenance keeps floors protected without disrupting operations. Perfect for warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing plants, mechanical rooms, storage facilities, automotive dealerships, vehicle maintenance bays, airplane hangars, and fire stations.

Food, Beverage & Controlled Environments

CERTIFIED FOR SENSITIVE ENVIRONMENTS

GreenGuard Gold certified for low chemical emissions and safe for incidental food contact. The breathable formula resists staining from organic materials, oils, and processing chemicals without trapping moisture in cold storage environments. Trusted in food processing plants, beverage bottling facilities, commercial kitchens, cold storage, freezers, pharmaceutical plants, laboratories, and clean rooms.

Decorative & Specialty Surfaces

PRESERVE COLOR & ENHANCE GLOSS

Protects decorative concrete installations where maintaining the original color and finish is critical. The clear, non-yellowing formula preserves the appearance of dyed, stained, and integrally colored floors while adding gloss and stain resistance. Compatible with polished concrete, burnished concrete, terrazzo, integrally colored concrete, dyed concrete, acid-stained concrete, natural stone, and masonry.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between a concrete densifier and a concrete sealer?

Concrete densifiers penetrate the surface and chemically react with the concrete to permanently harden and strengthen the material from within. They reduce dusting and porosity but do not form a protective barrier on top. Concrete sealers, on the other hand, either penetrate to add water repellency or form a film on the surface to block moisture and stains.

How should I prepare the concrete floor before application?

Deep clean the surface with an auto scrubber to remove dirt, laitance, curing compounds, and any existing coatings that may block penetration. Avoid acidic or citrus-based cleaners (d-limonene). If these cleaners were previously used, neutralize the surface with an alkaline cleaner such as TSP or a standard laundry detergent before applying the concrete floor sealer.

How do I apply the concrete floor finish?

Using a low-pressure sprayer, apply a light coat and spread thinly and evenly with a pre-dampened microfiber pad. Thin coats deliver the best results. Allow 30–60 minutes of dry time between coats. Backpack applicator systems are recommended for larger commercial and industrial concrete floor projects.

Will burnishing improve the finish?

Yes. Burnish with a high-speed floor machine (1,500–2,100 rpm) using a hog’s hair pad between coats. This accelerates cure time and increases gloss on polished concrete and burnished concrete surfaces.

How soon can I allow foot and equipment traffic?

Allow traffic only after the surface is completely dry, typically 30–60 minutes. Do not cover treated concrete floors for at least one week, as protective coverings may trap moisture and cause whiting.

Does this concrete sealer peel like floor wax?

No. Pentra-Finish HG forms a breathable, hard microfilm that will not lift, peel, or flake. Unlike traditional floor wax or acrylic floor coatings that require stripping, periodic recoats can be applied directly over the existing finish with no removal necessary.

What is the coverage rate?

First coat: 1,500–3,000 sq. ft. per gallon. Second and subsequent coats: 3,000–4,000 sq. ft. per gallon. Coverage varies based on concrete porosity and environmental conditions.

Is this a concrete densifier?

No. Pentra-Finish HG is a protective topical finish, not a densifier or hardener. It is designed to be used on cured concrete surfaces to provide gloss, stain resistance, and wear protection. For floors that require densification, apply a lithium silicate densifier first, then follow with Pentra-Finish HG as the protective finish coat.
