Convergent Pentra-Sil (HD)

High-Solids Lithium Silicate Hardener for Commercial and Industrial Floors

A high-solids Nano-Lithium densifier that hardens existing concrete, adds a subtle sheen, and eliminates dusting. Pentra-Sil HD increases abrasion and stain resistance on machine-troweled and polished concrete floors.

  • Increases abrasion resistance
  • No film to lift or peel
  • Dustproofs and resists staining

SKU: 20037

Pentra-Sil HD is a lithium silicate concrete densifier that penetrates into the concrete substrate rather than forming a topical coating. Once absorbed, the lithium silicate reacts chemically with free lime (calcium hydroxide) naturally present in concrete. This reaction produces calcium silicate hydrate, the same compound responsible for concrete’s strength during initial curing.

The result is a denser, harder surface from within. Microscopic pores in the concrete become filled, reducing porosity and eliminating the loose particles that cause dusting. Unlike sodium or potassium silicate densifiers that require scrubbing and rinsing to remove surface residue, Pentra-Sil HD’s high-solids Nano-Lithium formula absorbs more completely with less material left on the surface.

This penetrating chemistry means there’s no film to wear away, peel, or yellow over time. The treatment becomes part of the concrete itself, providing permanent hardening that improves with age. On polished floors, Pentra-Sil HD enhances the diamond polishing process by creating a harder substrate that takes a better shine and holds it longer.

With 16% solids content, Pentra-Sil HD delivers more reactive material per gallon than standard lithium densifiers. This higher concentration translates to better performance on older or more porous concrete that needs additional densification to achieve optimal hardness.

Key Features

Permanent Hardening

Chemically reacts with concrete to increase surface density and abrasion resistance. The treatment becomes part of the slab, not a coating that wears off.

Eliminates Concrete Dusting

Fills microscopic pores that release loose particles, stopping dust at the source. Reduces cleanup time and protects equipment and inventory from concrete dust contamination.

No Film or Residue

Penetrates fully with no topical layer to lift, peel, yellow, or show traffic wear. Minimal residue compared to sodium or potassium silicate alternatives.

Enhances Polished Concrete

Creates a harder substrate for diamond polishing, producing a better initial shine that lasts longer between maintenance cycles.

Stain and Chemical Resistance

Reduced porosity means spills stay on the surface longer, giving you more time to clean before absorption. Improves resistance to oils, chemicals, and common industrial contaminants.

VOC Compliant and Environmentally Safe

Meets VOC regulations worldwide. Non-toxic, non-flammable, and may contribute to LEED certification under Indoor Environmental Quality credits.

Industrial and Warehouse Floors

HIGH-TRAFFIC DURABILITY

Hardens and dustproofs concrete floors that see constant traffic from forklifts, pallet jacks, and heavy equipment. Ideal for warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, cold storage, and freezer floors where abrasion resistance and easy maintenance reduce long-term operational costs.

Commercial and Institutional

POLISHED CONCRETE PERFORMANCE

Enhances polished concrete in retail stores, office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, and public spaces. Prolongs the life of polished finishes, reduces maintenance frequency, and maintains light reflectance in high-visibility environments.

Food, Pharmaceutical, and Sensitive Environments

COMPLIANT FOR REGULATED FACILITIES

VOC compliant and suitable for environments with strict air quality requirements. Trusted in food and beverage processing plants, pharmaceutical manufacturing, laboratories, and healthcare facilities where floor treatments must meet regulatory standards.

Exterior and Heavy-Use Surfaces

BUILT FOR DEMANDING CONDITIONS

Protects concrete exposed to vehicle traffic, weather, and mechanical stress. Effective on parking garages, loading docks, aircraft hangars, fire stations, automotive service bays, sidewalks, and driveways.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between a concrete densifier and a concrete sealer?

Concrete densifiers penetrate the surface and chemically react with the concrete to permanently harden and strengthen the material from within. They reduce dusting and porosity but do not form a protective barrier on top. Concrete sealers, on the other hand, either penetrate to add water repellency or form a film on the surface to block moisture and stains.

What is Pentra-Sil HD used for?

Pentra-Sil HD is a lithium silicate densifier that hardens and dustproofs existing concrete floors. It improves abrasion resistance, stain resistance, and extends the life of polished concrete in commercial and industrial settings.

How is it different from other concrete densifiers?

Pentra-Sil HD uses a high-solids Nano-Lithium formula with 16% solids content, delivering more reactive material per application than standard lithium densifiers. It absorbs more completely than sodium or potassium silicates, leaving less residue and requiring less cleanup.

Does it change the appearance of concrete?

It adds a subtle sheen to the surface, particularly on polished or machine-troweled concrete. The product dries clear and will not yellow, discolor, or leave a visible film.

What is the coverage rate?

Machine-troweled concrete: 550–750 sq. ft. per gallon. Broom-finished concrete: 200–400 sq. ft. per gallon. Coverage varies with concrete porosity and condition.

What sizes are available?

1-gallon jugs, 5-gallon pails, 55-gallon drums, and 275-gallon totes.

Is Pentra-Sil HD VOC compliant?

Yes. VOC content is less than 50 g/L, compliant in all regions worldwide. It may contribute to LEED certification points under Indoor Environmental Quality credits.
